Becky GutiƩrrez concentrates her practice in general commercial and tax litigation at both the trial and appellate levels. Becky advises both individual and corporate clients in pre-litigation and litigation proceedings, and has experience in representing companies in connection with investigations by the Department of Justice.

As part of her pro bono practice, Becky helps ex-offenders recently released from custody successfully reintegrate into their communities by resolving legal impediments such as municipal summonses and associated fines. She has also advocated on behalf of victims of domestic violence, civil liberties organizations, and alleged incapacitated adults in guardianship proceedings.

Becky was raised in Hudson County with her three sisters. Her mother, Sylvia, was born in Puerto Rico and her father, Ariel, was born in Cuba. She received her A.B. from Boston College. She was conferred her J.D., cum laude, and LL.M in Taxation from the University of Miami School of Law. After law school, Becky worked as a senior tax consultant for Deloitte Tax LLP, where she analyzed tax implications of the international operations of U.S. and foreign multinational companies and assisted with U.S. and international regulatory compliance. Becky then had the honor of serving as a law clerk to The Honorable Carmen Messano, then-Deputy Presiding Judge of Administration in the New Jersey Superior Court’s Appellate Division.
