About the Cristian Rivera Foundation

The Cristian Rivera Foundation is a 501(c)(3) tax-exempt non-profit organization that has received GuideStar Platinum and Great Non Profit status for 4 consecutive years. Our mission is to find a cure for Diffuse Intrinsic Pontine Glioma (DIPG), an inoperable brain tumor that is diagnosed to over 200 children a year ages 1 - 9 in the United States by funding pioneering research, supporting families, and spreading awareness.

The Foundation has already contributed over $2,000,000 to the research and clinical trial of Dr. Mark Souweidane of Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center and the Director of the Weill Cornell Medical College Pediatric Brain and Spine Center. Dr. Souweidane has launched a pioneering FDA-approved clinical trial called convection-enhanced delivery (CED) which is the first of its kind to administer radio immunotherapy to children with an otherwise incurable tumor. As a result of this clinical trial and thanks in part to our Foundation, we now have a handful of DIPG survivors when there once was none. We also support the compelling genetic research of Dr. Oren Becher, the Chief of Pediatric Hematology-Oncology at Mount Sinai Kravis Children’s Hospital. In addition, we have highly esteemed celebrities on our board who are active members.

We work hard because over 200 children a year deserve hope and a chance at life. Be a part of our fight to cure DIPG!
