    Job Description 

    With supervision, provide legal advice, counsel and service to Eisai’s Oncology Business Unit and other assigned internal clients on legal matters, with a focus on counseling the research and development arms of the unit and related functions such as Regulatory Affairs, CQA, Medical Affairs, Medical Services, MSLs, Clinical Operations.

    The position’s primary focus shall be to advise R&D clients on various legal, compliance and liability matters; interpret and apply relevant laws, regulations and requirements; dispute management and resolution; risk and liability management in global operations and on day to day activities; advise on contractual matters; address emergent issues and identify systemic concerns and considerations; advise on privacy and human subject protections, GCPs, scientific exchange, publications, IP and related rights; and coordinate advice of legal experts on critical issues and concerns (e.g., activities ex-US, cutting edge/breaking issues, enforcement concerns).

    Draft and negotiate R&D pharma-related commercial contracts (e.g. clinical trial agreements, master service agreements, confidentiality agreements, informed consents, and/or other agreements).

    Prepare and provide educational presentations and develop policies, SOPs and procedures for local and global application.

    Provide legal advice for a wide range of regulatory matters affecting the unit, including, but not limited to FDA sales and marketing (advertising, promotion, labeling) activities.

    Essential Functions:

    1. Provides proactive and day-to-day advice and counsel to assigned business clients.
    2. Proactively informs assigned business client of important legal, enforcement and other industry developments.
    3. Within supervision, manages the legal and reputational risks of assigned business clients.
    4. Assists with the implementation of legal strategy and policies.
    5. Assists with the development of training content needs and deliver training throughout the company on legal and other risks.
    6. Works with legal department colleagues from ENW companies and alliance partners on global issues as needed.

    Job Qualifications:

    • 4+ years as a practicing, licensed attorney with client contact and varied responsibility
    • Prior experience advising on issues related to research and development in the pharmaceutical industry
    • Knowledge of FDA regulations and guidance, and corresponding state laws relating to clinical research and development, compliance and liability matters.

    Catholic Charities is currently seeking a Managing Attorney for its Immigration Assistance Program. The Managing Attorney manages and oversees the agency's Immigration Assistance Program. He or she tracks budgetary issues; ensures compliance with professional practice standards; addresses funding issues; coordinates with other departments; expands volunteer resources; supervises, evaluates, and recruits all attorneys and program staff; and expands connections with other legal and community organizations. The Managing Attorney handles legal cases and assists the department with providing legal representation for immigration cases, including analyzing individuals' cases, preparing applications, going to immigration court, preparing appeals, and completing related projects and duties as assigned. The Managing Attorney's case load also includes any legal matters related to immigration assistance such as related family and juvenile cases.     Duties associated with the position include:

    • Preparing asset, liability, and capital account entries by compiling and analyzing account information

    • Assisting with grant proposals and grant management
    • Increasing the national visibility of the program through discussions, presentations, and coordination with national immigration organizations
    • Conducting consultations along with help staff with difficult consultations, including periodic follow-up as necessary
    • Reviewing immigration developments, as well as any legal developments affecting immigrants, including legal changes and changes in procedure, which includes reading immigration law updates, attending trainings, attending government meetings, conferring with co-workers, and conferring with people outside of the agency
    • Addressing difficult supervisory issues such as problems with case files after staff depart and ensuring coverage of cases after staff are laid off or transferred to other departments
    • Conducting outreach efforts by discussing issues with other organizations or communities along with making presentations to groups
    • Upholding Catholic Charities’ mission, values, and ethics
    • Performing related functions necessary to support Catholic Charities’ mission, values, and ethics
    • Performing any other duties requested by the supervisor

    The Coordinator is responsible for developing an initiative that addresses
    improved coordination between the Westchester Hispanic Coalition's rape
    crisis center and campus personnel, local law enforcement, and county
    prosecutors to allow for a coordinated response to sexual violence,
    including sexual violence prevention, on college campuses. Position will
    be an integral member and coordinate efforts with the Westchester Hispanic
    Coalition's team including the existing rape crisis center, the Family Law
    Department and the Immigration Legal Services Department.

    Preferred Qualifications: BA and/or 3/5 years of relevant experience.
    Skills in training and team building. Strong communication, organizational
    and writing skills in both Spanish and English. Demonstrated commitment to
    immigrant rights, ending sexual violence, and other social justice issues.
    MUST BE BILINGUAL SPANISH/ENGLISH

    Specific Duties:
    Identify and Implement Best Practices: research existing best practices or
    tools regarding campus sexual assault, from post-assault response to
    sexual violence primary prevention, to support development or enhancement
    of policies and practices in Westchester.

    Outreach and Collaboration:
    Outreach to colleges/universities in Westchester to create partnerships to
    address sexual violence on campus.

    Plan, convene, facilitate, and/or attend meetings to develop
    collaborations to address campus sexual assault.

    Create a local/regional plan and establish a local consortium consisting
    of representatives from colleges, universities, rape crisis programs,
    county prosecutors, law enforcement community agencies, Sexual Assault
    Nurse Examiners, and any additional disciplines/ organizations that
    support a coordinated response to campus sexual violence; coordinate and
    facilitate meetings and communications with the county consortium.

    Create an advisory group and/or community groups for feedback on sexual
    violence on campus

    Services

    Provide 24-hr access to crisis intervention services, accompany victims to
    medical facilities for sexual assault forensic exams, in-person and
    telephone crisis counseling, advocacy on behalf of victims, counseling,
    support groups and referrals to other needed services

    Work with Rape Crisis Center at the Westchester Hispanic Coalition to
    provide services to victims including but not limited to advocacy,
    counseling, medical svcs. info about STIs, HIV, emergency contraception,
    sexual assault forensic exams and reimbursement through the NYS Office of
    Victims Services. Coordinate accompaniment with Rape Crisis Services at
    WHC to assist and advise victims throughout the judicial or conduct
    process including during all meetings and hearings related to the process

    Education and Training:
    Undertake training or awareness efforts to combat domestic violence,
    dating violence, stalking or sexual assault

    Deliver, or assist in the delivery of, a comprehensive student onboarding
    and ongoing education campaign to educate members of the institution's
    community about domestic violence, dating violence, stalking and sexual
    assault.

    Assist colleges/universities to develop and implement multiple methods to
    educate students about violence prevention and share information on
    domestic violence, dating violence, stalking and sexual assault with
    parents of enrolling students. Provide to all students general and
    specific training in domestic violence, dating violence, stalking and
    sexual assault. Training includes international students, students who are
    also employees, leaders and officers of registered or recognized student
    organizations, and online and distance education students and student
    athletes.

    Other Duties:
    Complete and Accurate Record keeping required reports..

    Perform other duties as assigned by the Deputy Director
