The Hispanic Bar Association of New Jersey is seeking attorneys and law students to participate as mentors in its 2016-2017 American Dream Pipeline Program.
The American Dream Pipeline Program has two programs, one at Passaic High School, the other at Union City High School. Both programs have separate registration pages. This registration page is exclusively for the Union City High School Program.
ABOUT THE AMERICAN DREAM PROGRAM
Established in 2013, the American Dream Pipeline Program is a mentorship program geared towards high school students from urban communities, who often come from families that migrated to the United States and are most likely first generation college-bound students. The focus of the program is to expose students to the legal profession and provide guidance from attorney mentors sharing similar backgrounds and life experiences. During the program's monthly sessions, the students hear from guest speakers on various legal topics and participate in one-on-one sessions with their assigned mentors to review their college applications and essays, as well as corresponding assignments, such as debate preparation. Mentorship responsibilities include attendance of monthly sessions at the respective high school you sign up for.
