On April 14, 2018, we invite you to join us at our pro-bono legal clinic for a Day of Service at 42 Broad Street, Elizabeth, New Jersey from 8:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. Additional event details are available on the attached flyers.
We are seeking lawyers, law students, and other paraprofessionals to provide legal guidance at a free legal clinic to be held on April 14, 2018. This April 14th “Day of Service” is a direct response to the urgent crisis afflicting U.S.Citizens from disaster stricken islands now residing in NJ. Our clinic will provide free legal and other services to evacuees. Issues to be addressed include registering evacuees for FEMA and other disaster relief benefits/services as well as filing FEMA appeals and the like.
You need not volunteer for the entire duration. Please feel free to volunteer for a few hours or the entire event.
To assist in preparing you to serve as a volunteer, we ask that you kindly review this CLE disaster relief seminar video <https://www.pli.edu/Content/OnDemand/Puerto_Rico_Disaster_Relief_/_/N-4nZ1z0zr9x?ID=332358> which highlights important and common legal disaster relief issues.
For those interested in handling pro bono appeals cases with your firm or on an independent basis, please let us know and we will coordinate with you to make appropriate accommodations.
Please contact Arianna Mouré amoure@floriolaw.com and Emilia Pérez emiliaperez8@gmail.com with any questions or concerns.
On behalf of disaster victims in NJ, we thank you in advance for your help.
