Join the Hispanic Bar Association and New Jersey State Bar Association for a Disaster Relief CLE discussion on Wednesday, November 15, 2017, from 6:30 pm to 8:30 pm at the New Jersey Law Center, One Constitution Square, New Brunswick, NJ.
On November 15, 2017, experienced experts in disasters will describe how disaster legal services programs work, how to quickly put these programs into place, and how lawyers can assist disaster victims. The CLE will also provide background on the most recurring legal issues disaster survivors face - from insurance disputes, FEMA benefits, landlord tenant disputes, consumer fraud, and more. Additionally, presenters will discuss the myriad of ethical issues that can potentially arise in disaster representation and how to address them.
Notably, this program is also open to non-attorneys. Participants will receive information on additional online resources that will provide invaluable resources for when they volunteer to assist a disaster survivor.
Registration is free and 2.4 NJ CLE credits will be offered to all attendees. Attorneys who are not able to attend in-person, will be able to receive non-live credit. Attorneys interested in receiving non-live credit must (1) register and (2) email Arianna Mouré arianna.moure@gmail.com and Emilia Pérez emiliaperez8@gmail.com with the email address that they wish to receive the link for the live webcast.
